1、认清自己，精准目标。胡然应该说是一个非常努力上进的孩子，但是如果想通过高考进入国内一流的大学应该是比较困难，而她自己又特别希望到美国名校去读本科。为了尊重孩子的愿望，我认真的考察了从国内高中进入美国大学本科学习的几个途径，我发现以胡然现有的水平通过考toefl和sat，直接进入美国大学特别是前50名的大学是一件非常困难的事，甚至比考上国内一流的大学还要难。还有最令我担心的是如果备考TOEFL和SAT，那么高一时就要开始准备，这就意味着在国内高中的学业很难扎扎实实完成（我认为这也是许多从国内到美国读本科的孩子为什么往往后劲不足主要原因）。经过慎重的考虑，最终选择以美国社区大学为跳板进入美国名校这条路线。为此给胡然做出了学习规划：利用高中一、二年级的寒暑假，准备英语标准化考试，其余时间认真在学校上课，以优异的成绩完成高中学业。高二毕业考试完成后，直接进入美国社区大学学习，在社区大学学习两年后，转入前50的名校完成大三、大四的学习（最佳目标学校加州大学伯克利分校或加州大学洛杉矶分校，保底学校加州大学圣巴巴拉分校）。

2、不忘初心，方得始终。客观上讲进入美国社区大学是比较容易的，而且从社区大学转入四年制的大学也不是太难的事，但问题是如果要想转入像加州大学伯克利分校和洛杉矶分校这样的顶级名校，可要费点心思，花点功夫。除了要保持较高的GPA外，还要有社会实践，课外活动和志愿者服务等。这些国内的家长是帮不上忙的，只有看孩子的能力了。一个心中有目标的孩子，要时刻为实现自己的理想寻找机会，在美国的大学里没有人要求你干这干那，只有靠自己寻找机会。胡然就是凭自己的实力担任所在社区学院的辅导员（tutor），还参加了全美学生社团（PTK），并利用业余时间在城市图书馆做管理员、到附近小学校辅导美国小学生阅读，为所在城市举行大型活动时做志愿者等等，而且她还把有关在美国的学习和生活情况经常分享在国内的知名留学网站上，被网络媒体称为中国优秀留学生代表……所有这一切为她申请名校增加了靓丽的色彩。

回顾女儿的留学经历，我深深的体会到：对于送孩子去美国读书这件事，我相信每个家长都怀着美好的愿望，充满了远大的理想；但现实告诉我们，送孩子出国留学绝对是一步险棋，要稳扎稳打，步步为营，稍有不慎，满盘皆输。这就要求我们家长要保持头脑清醒，不可人云亦云，随波逐流，应根据孩子的实际情况，制定确实可行留学方案，并严格按方案执行。否则不仅浪费了钱财和时间，最重要的是在孩子成长的道路上会造成很多不利的影响，而且这一切还将无法挽回。
